WASHINGTON — Vice President Kamala Harris will spend election night at Howard University, sources told WUSA9 on Tuesday.
As the Democratic presidential candidate prepared to make her campaign's 'closing arguments' at the Ellipse in D.C. on Tuesday, sources told WUSA9's Lesli Foster that Harris will also spend election night in The District. With the vice president expected to join supporters at her alma mater Howard University next Tuesday.
WUSA9 was not given any immediate information about where the election night events would be held at the historically-Black college in Northwest D.C.
Classes at Howard will be remote on Mon, Nov. 4. The campus will be closed with no classes on Election Day, Tues. Nov. 5.
Vice President Harris graduated from Howard in 1986. The vice president was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, one of the "Divine Nine" historically Black sororities.
Harris' Republican opponent Former President Donald Trump is set to hold an election night watch party near his residence and resort in West Palm Beach, Florida, at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.
