WASHINGTON — Tuesday Nov. 5 marks Election Day, with voters choosing between Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris and Republican former President Donald Trump to succeed President Joe Biden and become the 47th president of the United States.
Voters will also cast ballots for a hotly contested U.S. Senate race in Maryland, between former Gov. Larry Hogan and County Executive Angela Alsobrooks, while longtime Sen. Tim Kaine will face challenger Hung Cao to represent Virginia. U.S. House seats across the region are also on the ballots, as well as a D.C. initiative that could bring substantial changes to primaries and numerous local races.
