Prince George's County police officer involved in early morning crash

The crash happened on Central Avenue and Addison Road in Seat Pleasant.

SEAT PLEASANT, Md. — An investigation is underway after a car and a police cruiser crashed into one another Thursday morning in Seat Pleasant.

The Prince George’s County Police Department confirmed that one of their officers was involved in a crash on Central Avenue and Addison Road just before 3 a.m.

The officer is assigned to the K9 section. He was injured in the crash but is expected to be ok. No animals were injured as a result.

WUSA9 responded to the crash to a K9 cruiser was being towed away. 

The driver of the other car involved in the collision ran away. A passenger in that car was also injured but expected to be ok.

This investigation is ongoing. WUSA9 will continue to update this story as more information comes into our newsroom.
