HOLLYWOOD, Md. (WUSA9) -- Authorities say that a man who fired a shotgun at several people in Hollywood, Md. was ultimately stopped by his girlfriend's father.
St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office authorities say 22-year-old Kyle Flynn got into an altercation with his girlfriend at a home in Hollywood on Monday. At some point he got a shotgun from inside the house and fired once through the rear door of the home, say authorities. The girlfriend fled with her young child out of the home, fearing for their safety, according to authorities.
Flynn then followed the pair and shot several times at two other people who were in a car near the driveway, say authorities. By that time the girlfriend's father had arrived at the home. He confronted Flynn, say authorities, and Flynn fired a shot at him.
Authorities tell us that Flynn then went into the home again and came back with a handgun. This time, however, his girlfriend's father was able to get the gun away from Flynn and take him to the ground. Authorities say that the gun was secured until officers arrived at the scene.
Flynn was later arrested and charged with four counts of first-degree assault, four counts of reckless endangerment, two counts of second-degree assault and use of a handgun in the commission of a felony.
Authorities say that he is being held at the detention center on a $200,000 bond.
