BOWIE, Md. — One man is in custody and a warrant was issued for another man after Prince George's County Police said the pair was responsible for 19 airbag thefts in Bowie on May 22.
PGPD and the City of Bowie Police Department held a joint investigation and determined the pair broke into 19 Honda's between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m on Wednesday and stole airbags.
Officials later identified 24-year-old Roy Guzman and 28-year-old Michael Roane as suspects.
After further investigation, police arrested Roane on Wednesday night.
In a press release sent to the media, PGPD Deputy Chief Jackie Rafterry said, “We appreciate the efforts of our partners at the City of Bowie Police Department. These types of crimes affect the lives of our citizens and are a priority for both departments. I commend the detectives who worked tirelessly to stop these criminals.”
Roane and Guzman are charged in connection with the thefts.
An arrest warrant was issued for Guzman, according to officials.
Police said a gun was also found during a search warrant at Guzman's home.
