STERLING, Va. (WUSA9) -- Loudoun County Sheriff's Office authorities say a man who pretended to be a charity worker for a non-profit organization that collects money to support military service members has been charged with obtaining money by false pretenses.
Fifty-two-year-old William R. Pierce of Sterling was arrested last week. Authorities say he was acting as a collecting agent with Douglas J. Green Memorial Foundation. The charges stem from a report of possible fraud that occurred in late April at a business in Chantilly, Va., according to officials.
Authorities say Pierce was possibly soliciting other businesses and asking for cash or checks to be made out to him. He also uses the name Randy.

Pierce is currently being held at Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.
