WASHINGTON — A Maryland Proud Boys member pleaded guilty on Friday to a felony charge of assaulting officers with weapons during the Jan. 6 insurrection.
According to court documents, Scott Miller, 37, of Millersville, attacked D.C. Police officers and Capitol Police at the the Lower West Terrace of the Capitol — which was the site of some of the worst violence on Jan. 6.
At around 4:30 p.m., Miller hit a D.C. Police officer with a wooden pole several times, according to court documents. He also threw a metal pipe, a bottle, a wooden stick, and a large black speaker at police, and swung another long pole at officers' heads.
Miller also stole a riot shield from a Capitol Police officer, court documents show.
Miller was arrested on Dec. 16, 2022, in Maryland by the FBI. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 19.
