WASHINGTON — Actor and comedian Anthony Anderson is recovering after a night in the emergency room after an movie set fight scene went wrong.
Anderson posted on Instagram about the incident, saying it was a "movie set fight gone wrong. Me against two goons and a chair! Guess who didn’t win!"
The "Black-ish" star was filming for the action thriller "G20" in Cape Town, South Africa, according to DEADLINE.
In the Instagram photo, he can be seen holding up a peace sign while laying down on a hospital gurney. Anderson wrote that doctors performed a CT scan and X-rays, but the tests showed nothing fractured or broken in his back.
He did confirm that the incident had left him with a deep cut, but it's unclear from the photo where he was sliced.
"That chair will never be the same though!" Anderson wrote. "Bloodied and bowed but never broken!"
In a follow-up post, Anderson showed off the chair that had apparently caused his injuries. That photo, with the location set to Cape Town, shows a basic wooden chair, similar to what would be found in the waiting area of a doctor's office or business.
But fans shouldn't fear, it looks like Anderson had some payback plans for the seat.
"This is the chair that whooped my a** last night!" he wrote. "Something about it is menacing! It sucker punched me in the kidneys and back with no mercy! When I got on set today it was grinning at me! Little does he know I got something for that a**! He gone learn today!"
