WASHINGTON — A man was arrested for unlawful entry after crossing over a barrier and into a restricted area near the National Christmas Tree on Sunday.
Officials say the incident happened at around 11:37 a.m. near 17th Street and E Street, Northwest. This happened as Secret Service was attempting to speak with the male subject when he crossed into a restricted area.
He was quickly apprehended and arrested.
This comes just two days after a man was arrested for climbing the National Christmas Tree. The incident caused damage to the tree, which is now closed, both as a result of the climb and the national shutdown.
