HAYMARKET, Va. — Somewhere in Haymarket, Virginia, a lucky lottery player might be walking around with a life-changing fortune in their pocket, and they may not even know it yet. Someone purchased a Virginia Lottery Cash 5 with EZ Match ticket worth a staggering $1.5 million, and the clock is ticking for the winner to step forward and claim their prize.

The winning ticket, sold at Evergreen Liberty on James Madison Highway, matched all five numbers in Monday's drawing: 6, 20, 32, 36, and 43. That’s right—those numbers are now tied to a whopping $1,505,297. But here’s the kicker: the ticket holder has yet to claim their prize, and they only have 180 days from the drawing to do so.

With odds of winning the Cash 5 jackpot standing at 1 in 1,221,759, this mystery person beat the odds big time.

Could it be you? If you were at the Evergreen Liberty recently, it might be worth looking through your pockets, car seats, or even the bottom of your grocery bags.

As the winner dreams of what to do with their newfound fortune, they’ll also be contributing to a good cause. All profits from the Virginia Lottery go to K-12 education in the state. Last year, Prince William County, where the winning ticket was sold, received over $64.6 million in lottery funds to support schools, and this year, the lottery raised more than $934 million for education statewide. So, not only is this prize life-changing for the winner, it also plays a part in helping Virginia’s students succeed.
