WASHINGTON — Police are investigating after a woman was hit and killed by an SUV in Northeast D.C. on Saturday night.
The incident happened in the 3200 block of 8th Street, Northeast.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, at 8:11 p.m., a woman approached the driver of a Mercedes-Benz SUV parked in front of the 3200 block of 8th Street. She got into a verbal fight with the driver, who began to drive away, police said.
The woman grabbed onto the driver’s side view mirror and stood on the running board. She fell from the moving SUV and was run over by the rear tire.
The driver immediately stopped and called 911, according to police.
DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene, but she was pronounced dead at the scene and eventually transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
She was identified as 25-year-old Sheda’sa Thompson, of Northeast D.C.
