Doctors are treating a woman who was injured Monday night at a Virginia fair when the cables on a ride snapped, officials said.
The accident happened just after 7 p.m. at the Frederick County Fairgrounds in the Shenandoah Valley, according to Frederick County Sheriff's Office.
A 47-year-old woman was hurt while riding the "Super Shot."
While the ride was going down, the single seat the woman was secured in detached from the main frame of the ride and hit the ground, officials said.
The fall was about 40 feet.
The woman had multiple injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
Everything except for the "Super Shot" is open Tuesday.
