MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA9) -- The woman wanted for a murder in front of a Food Lion grocery store in Manassas was arrested on Friday.
Some shoppers felt a little strange coming to the store where a man was shot to death in the parking lot Tuesday night.
"It was a little odd being in there today. But I shop here all the time and I'm not going to stop," said Kim Clatterbuck.
"Lot of screw balls running around in this world. What can I say? Lock them up," said Mike, another shopper.
Around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, a huge fight in front of the Food Lion on Hoadley Road apparently stemmed from a custody dispute. Police believe a young woman involved in the fight pulled out a gun and fired the fatal shot.
"The gunfire happened in the parking lot. The victim was hit and stumbled toward the entrance where he collapsed," said Sgt. Jonathon Perok.
The victim, Cordrey Douglas Jackson, 24, was wanted back in 2013 for the attempted armed robbery and assault of a pizza delivery man. Police say the person who killed him is Roberta Edlina Brandon, 23, of Woodbridge.
Relatives told WUSA9 that they don't know where Roberta is, but they said the incident involved a "baby mama" and a custody dispute.
Sgt. Perok said they have many witnesses including customers and employees at the store. He said that before the shooting there was a fight about a domestic issue involving other people who were there. He said the victim was fighting with another man and with Roberta Brandon when she pulled out a gun and killed him.
"We want to get her in custody so we can interview her," said Perok.
Brandon is not the first woman accused of murder in Prince William County, but she is the only woman accused of murder this year.
The fatal shooting marks Prince William County's 22nd homicide this year.
