WHEATON, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man who climbed a radio tower in Wheaton is now down and in custody, according to officials.
Montgomery County Fire & Rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer says that a man climbed the 300 foot Wheaton Radio Tower at University Boulevard and Viers Mill Road. At approximately 3:15 a.m., he started to climb down the tower.
According to Piringer, police responded to the scene and emergency crews evaluated the man. No injuries were reported.
