WASHINGTON — The Washington Wizards will be rocking a new uniform for the 2024 - 2025 season.
The team made substantial changes to the jersey, including an exclusive "jumpman" logo on this "statement" jersey. The D.C. flag is also represented on both the jersey and the shorts, while the "I" in District on the top is represented as the Washington Monument.
"Our 2024-25 Statement Uniform is inspired by the Washington, D.C. flag, and is the embodiment of what makes D.C. unique," the Wizards said of the new look. "It's bold, energetic, and vibrant, with regional flavor like Ben's Chili Bowl and Rare Essence concert posters. It's a prideful old soul with a youthful and lively spirit, and a symbol of all walks of life brought together, unified as one. It's a flag we wave and wear proudly. This is For the District."
The Washington Wizards made the announcement on their X account, formerly known as Twitter, and fans started reacting to it almost immediately. The reaction was mixed, ranging from "these not bad" to "I don't like it."
The 2024-2025 new uniforms are alternate threads to the traditional home whites and road reds.
Following the announcement of Brian Keefe as the new team's coach last May, the Wizards new statement jersey is a statement itself - as it is keeping the same silhouette - but adding impressive details of our nation's capital.
