51-year-old Georgia woman charged for impersonating law enforcement in Prince William County

When the homeowner returned to their residence they found an unknown woman inside.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A woman is facing charges after falsely claiming to be part of law enforcement when she allegedly broke into a home in Woodbridge Tuesday night.

Officers with the Prince William County Police Department responded to a home on Cebu Island Court, off of Old Bridge Road, around 9:30 p.m. to investigate a burglary. Through an investigation, they learned that the homeowner returned to their home and found an unknown woman inside.

The woman, identified as 51-year-old Genie Rhinehart, of Evans, Georgia, was found inside the house and detained. When she initially identified herself to officers on scene she stated that she was law enforcement, but that was determined to be false information.

Police were able to determine that she broke into the home through an unsecured window.

Rhinehart was arrested and charged with burglary and impersonating law enforcement, according to the Prince William Police.
