Fairfax County Police say ATM robbery suspect caught, accomplice still on the run

The suspect's vehicle in the case was later determined to have been stolen from Prince William County.

SPRINGFIELD, Va. — A Woodbridge woman has been arrested for assaulting and attempting to rob a victim at an ATM in Springfield on Tuesday afternoon, but police say her accomplice is still on the run.

Officers with the Fairfax County Police Department responded to the Capitol One Bank, located on Commerce Street, around 12:30 p.m. after a report of a robbery. The victim, identified solely as a man, was finishing a withdrawal from the ATM at the location when he was approached by a woman who was with a man at the time.

The woman, later identified as 28-year-old Ashleigh Ours, began to assault the man at the ATM and tried to grab his wallet and cash, police said.

The duo then got into a Toyota Rav4 and left the area. The victim suffered injuries that aren't considered to be life-threatening.

An officer was able to locate the suspect vehicle in the case, later determined to be stolen from Prince William County, at a nearby gas station. Ours was arrested after short chase on foot. The man, described as being 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-2, let the area before police could detain him.

According to police, Ours was charged with robbery with serious bodily injury, malicious wounding, possession of Schedule 1 or 2 drug, and obstructing justice.
