SPRINGFIELD, Va. — Police are searching for a person who allegedly robbed a bank in Springfield Wednesday morning.
Officers with the Fairfax County Police Department responded to a Wells Fargo, located on Burke Lake Road, 9:20 a.m. after a report of a bank robbery at the location. Through an initial investigation, they learned that the suspect entered the bank wearing a black ski mask and demanding money.
No injuries have been reported as a result of the robbery, no weapon was shown during, and no information has been disclosed about the amount of money taken, if any.
The person of interest in the case has been described as being a male, no information has been released about a possible age at this time. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black North Face jacket and black Adidas sweatpants with a red stripe on the side.
According to police, he possibly fled the location in a black Honda Accord.
The investigation into the robbery remains active and ongoing.
