FAIRFAX, Va. — Two Virginia State Police Troopers rescued a woman from her car that was submerged in a retention pond Sunday night.
At 9:40 p.m., the troopers removed a 40-year-old woman from car located off of Interstate 66 in Fairfax County.
According to police, the driver went off the road and into the pond, leaving the driver stuck inside. Troopers A. King and B. Foret both jumped into the pond and were able to get the woman out through the sunroof.
The driver was taken to a hospital for evaluation, details of her current conditions have not been released.
Both Troopers were also taken to a hospital and evaluated because of cold temperatures in the pond.
The crash remains under investigation, but the driver's car has since been removed from the pond.
