WASHINGTON — Residents of the commonwealth cast their votes Tuesday as the country inches toward picking its presidential nominees.
While several names appear on the ballot, this Super Tuesday, voters are picking between former President Donald Trump and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley. Haley was also Trump's ambassador to the United Nations.
While the big focus of Tuesday's primary is on the Republican ballot, President Joe Biden will also appear on the Democratic presidential primary ballot alongside self-help author Marianne Williamson and U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minnesota).
Virginia is one of 15 states, along with American Samoa, participating in Super Tuesday, which is when the most states hold presidential primary elections on the same day.
