SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. — A North Carolina nurse practitioner is facing charges after allegedly inappropriately touching patients, one of which was a child, at a Spotsylvania medical clinic.
Detectives with the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office began their investigation on Nov. 7 after a mother alerted them of inappropriate actions involving their 7-year-old daughter, who was a patient of the accused, 55-year-old Keith Henry, of Lewisburg, N.C. The actions happened at a medical clinic in Spotsylvania during a consultation.
After an extended investigation, Henry was charged with felony aggravated sexual battery of a child under 13 years of age. With the help of Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshals Service, Henry was arrested in Hanover on Nov. 28, and put behind bars at Pamunkey Regional Jail under no bond.
While he was in custody, detectives learned of a second sex crime that happened under similar circumstances. In that case, a 35-year-old woman informed authorities that Henry inappropriately touched her during a medical exam that happened within the past year at the same clinic.
Through an investigation into the claims, warrants were obtained on Henry for misdemeanor sexual battery and attempted sexual battery, the sheriff's office said.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking if anyone has further information to contact Senior Detective Y. Lecarpentier at (540) 507-7674 or ylecarpentier@spotsylvania.va.us.
