Burke house fire sends 1 to hospital

The cause is still under investigation.

BURKE, Va. — Firefighters in Fairfax County worked to bring a two-alarm house fire under control early Wednesday morning. The fire sent one person to the hospital, but they are expected to be OK.

Crews were called to the 5700 block of Walnut Wood Lane in Burke around 2 a.m. for a report of a flames showing from the rear of a townhome. Firefighters called a second alarm to get more crews to the scene.

Fire crews were able to quickly bring the flames under control and no serious injuries were reported. It's not clear whether the home had working smoke detectors.
