TYSONS, Va. — Three people were injured after a shooting near a hotel in Tysons Corner on New Year's Day, Fairfax County police said.
The shooting happened on the 8600 block of Westwood Center Drive in Tysons Corner just before 3 a.m. during a "large gathering of people."
A total of three people have been taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries as a result of the shooting, police said.
Police believe the shooting was not random and there is no threat to the public.
At this time, there is no information on a possible suspect. Fairfax County Police are investigating the incident.
The day before New Year's Eve, one person was killed and another was seriously injured after a shooting in the Alexandria portion of Fairfax County, police said.
The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 7900 block of Sausalito Place in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County, Virginia. When officers arrived at the scene, they found 18-year-old Kamren Quick suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Officers took Quick to a nearby hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. Officers also found 20-year-old Jayden Quick dead inside the home from a gunshot wound.
Fairfax County police were able to make an arrest and are continuing to investigate the incident. Anyone with information should contact the police.
