More than 35,000 people competed in the 32nd Army Ten-Miler Sunday morning in Northern Virginia.
The race takes military service members and civilians through Arlington and the National Mall in Washington, DC.
Organizers say the race is the third largest ten-mile race in the world. This year, every American state was represented by a runner in the race.
"We get to compete against each other and you know, what better place than D.C. to do it" asked competitor Howie Sanborn.
Proceeds from the event go toward multiple military charities.
