STAFFORD, Va. — A Stafford man is starting off the new year a million dollars richer after a big Virginia Lottery game win.
“I almost fell to the ground," Michael Brosnan said recalling the moment he discovered his win. "It was amazing!”
Brosnan is one of the lucky five winners of the $1 million winning tickets in Virginia's New Year's Millionaire Raffle. He said that his first inkling that he might have won was when his father called and said it has been announced that one of the winning tickets was bought at Paddy’s 32 Steakhouse & Pub on Center Street in Stafford. The exact place where he bought his raffle tickets from.
Then once he checked his ticket numbers he found the big winner -- ticket #007094.

Brosnan said he has no immediate plans for his winnings. “It’s unbelievable!” he told lottery officials as he claimed his prize. “It’s hard to explain.”
Brosnan's winning ticket wasn't the only one that was purchases in Northern Virginia. The other four million-dollar winning tickets were sold in Arlington, Fredericksburg, Leesburg and Manassas.
Seven tickets won $100,000 each, and were bought in Henrico, Lynchburg, Manassas, Poquoson, Suffolk, Virginia Beach and Yorktown. An additional 1,000 tickets each won $500.
