SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. — A Spotsylvania County woman is dead after a mobile home fire early Tuesday morning.
According to the sheriff's department, firefighters were called to the 10200 block of Duerson Lane in Partlow, Virginia, for a report of a fire. When firefighters got to the scene, the single-wide mobile home engulfed in flames.
Neighbors told firefighters that someone may have been inside, and crews noticed a car in the driveway. Crews worked to search the home, while also battling the flames.
Firefighters got the blaze under control quickly. However, 52-year-old Alice Carter was found dead inside. The Fire Marshals Office is working to determine the cause of the fire.
