MANASSAS, Va. — An elementary school in Prince William County is closed Friday after a vehicle crashed into a pole nearby.
Officers with the Prince William County Police Department responded to Old Centreville Road in front of Yorkshire Elementary School around 5:30 a.m. after a report of a vehicle striking a police. At the scene, police learned that the driver fled the scene before their arrival.
Extended traffic impacts are expected due to needed repairs, and commuters should expect delays.
In addition, Yorkshire Elementary School, located at 7610 Old Centreville Road in Manassas, announced that they would be closed to students and staff due to a power line being down in front of the school. SACC child care will also be closed.
No other school in the Prince William County Public Schools system is impacted.
The investigation into the single\-vehicle crash is active and ongoing.
