ARLINGTON, Va. — Police are searching for a shooter who left a man wounded in a vehicle after an argument in Arlington Monday night.
Officers with the Arlington Police Department responded to Langston Boulevard, nearby North Kirkwood Road, just after 7:40 p.m. after a report of an assault with a weapon. Upon arrival, they found a man in the passenger seat of a parked vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police began performing life-saving measures until he was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. He is in stable condition.
Through the initial stages of the investigation, detectives were able to determine that the man and a witness were driving on Richmond Highway when the person of interest, who was driving in a vehicle at the time, which had two people in it, pulled alongside them. A verbal argument was then started over driving.
In the area of Richmond Highway and Memorial Avenue, one of the people inside the suspect vehicle showed a firearm and started to fire rounds, striking the victim. After the shooting, the driver of the victim's vehicle traveled to the area of Langston Boulevard where police responded to and sought help.
The suspect vehicle has been described as a black sedan, with the driver being described as a female with shoulder length hair. The passenger has been described as a male who was wearing a face mask at the time of the shooting.
