Suspect accused of armed robbery of bank in Fairfax; Police release photos

In photos released by the police department, the suspect can be seen wearing dark clothing and red shoes with white trim at the bottom.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Officers with the City of Fairfax Police Department are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect accused of an armed robbery at a bank on Saturday.

Police say the suspect entered Sandy Spring Bank, located on Main Street, near Fairfax Square, around 11:50 a.m. The accused, identified as a male suspect, then handed the teller at the bank a dark-colored Gucci handbag to fill up with money, provided a note, and showed a handgun. 

After the armed robbery, the suspect then left the bank on foot. No information was provided as to which direction the suspect was headed. 

In photos released by the police department, the suspect can be seen wearing dark clothing and red shoes with white trim at the bottom. No information has been provided of a probable age of the suspect in the case.
