FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Police are investigating a deadly collision in Fairfax County Monday evening.
According to a tweet from the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD), the collision happened on Lee Highway at Centrewood Drive in Centreville.
Police claim a person was hit by a vehicle in the area.
When officers arrived, they found the person had died from their injuries following the collision. Police have not identified the person killed in the collision.
Investigators say the driver of the vehicle used in the crash remained at the scene.
Lee Highway was closed at Centrewood Drive for the crash investigation. Roads are back open as of Tuesday morning.
There is no word on what may have led up to the deadly crash at this time.
