Virginia State Police cancel Senior Alert after Fairfax man found

Bashir Nasiri, 66, was found safe Monday morning.

HERNDON, Va. — Update: 

Fairfax County Police Department officers report Bashir Nasiri was safely located Monday morning.

The Virginia State Police have issued a Senior Alert on behalf of the Fairfax County Police Department on Monday, May 1. Police are searching for a man who disappeared from Herndon, Virginia, on Sunday night. 

Bashir Nasiri, 66, was last seen on Sunday, April 30, around 10 p.m. in the area of Coppermine Road in Herndon, Virginia, according to police. Investigators believe he may be driving a white 2005 Mitsubishi Galant with Virginia plate number UDF5699.

Nasiri is described as a white man, who is about 5 feet 3 inches tall and 165 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray coat with a hood, dark gray sweatpants and brown leather slides. 

Investigators say Nasiri's disappearance poses a credible threat to his health and safety because he suffers from cognitive impairment.
