Prince William County teacher arrested for assaulting a student

MANASSAS, Va. — A Prince William County teacher is facing charges for allegedly assaulting a student.

Christine Annette Mitchell, 60, was arrested on Wednesday following an investigation into an alleged assault against a 9-year-old girl. The assault took place on November 29 at Marshall Elementary School in Manassas.

During the investigation, it was revealed Mitchell grabbed and dragged the little girl from one classroom to another. The student sustained minor injuries. The assault was reported to police later that evening. 

Mitchell is facing assault and battery charges. She has since been released from custody on Court Summons. It is currently unknown when her first court appearance will be.
