PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Police are searching for a man who grabbed an 18-year-old woman by the arm in an attempt to pull her into a car with him.
According to the Prince William County Police Department, officers were called after an attempted abduction in the area of Colby Dr. near Torrington St. in Woodbridge
When officers arrived, they learned the incident had happened between 1 and 2 a.m. in the area of Colby Dr. near Torrington St. in Woodbridge on Friday, April 14.
Investigators say the woman was walking in the area when she noticed a car following her. When she confronted a man inside the car, he got out and walked toward her. The man then grabbed the woman's arm and tried to pull her into the vehicle.
Police say the woman fight back and was hit in the face by the suspect. The driver of the car the man had been trying to pull the woman into got out of the car and intervened. The woman got away and the driver and man left.
The victim called police a few days later. Investigators claim the suspect had been following the victim and showing up at the same places as her on multiple occasions for several months. While police were not called during the past interactions, the victim says the man had attempted to engage with her during those times.
The suspect is described as a man between 24 and 29 years old. He is approximately 5-foot-9, with a thin build, curly black hair, brown eyes and a scar on his left eyebrow.
