LEESBURG, Va. — A Leesburg man is facing charges after police say he set fire to a residential building on two separate occasions.

According to the Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Fire Marshal's Office (LCFR FMO), 28-year-old Jose Hernandez was arrested and charged with two counts of burning or destroying a dwelling.

Investigators say crews were called to a residential building on Edwards Ferry Road NE shortly before 3:45 p.m. on Sunday. When crews arrived, they found a small dryer on fire on the second floor. The LCFR FMO determined the fire was caused by the igniting of some combustible materials and caused around $1,500 worth of damages.

Two days later, crews returned to the same building just before 9:30 p.m. to find the remnants of another dryer fire in a laundry room. The LCFR FMO determined the fire was started the same way as the one on Sunday.

Fire alarms functioned as normal in both fires and no injuries were reported.
