LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. — The Loudoun County High School Varsity Cheer Team celebrated a major milestone Thursday morning.
The Northern Virginia squad joined hundreds of cheerleaders from across the country, performing a routine to Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go!” as part of the Spirit of America cheer show at the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
This year’s parade featured 17 giant character balloons, 22 floats, 15 novelty and heritage inflatables, 11 marching bands, 700 clowns and 10 performance groups.
The team shared photos with WUSA9, capturing the journey from rehearsals to Thursday morning's performance in the rain.
This Thanksgiving marks the first time the cheer team has been included in the iconic parade, adding another achievement to an already impressive season. The squad remained undefeated throughout the year, earning titles as district champions, region champions and securing the state championship earlier this month.
It’s a fitting end to a remarkable season for Loudoun County’s Varsity Cheer Team.
Last year, 15 members of the Liberty High School Cheer Team from Bealeton, Virginia performed in the parade.
