Loudoun County deputy injured in 'accidental' shooting at training center

The shooting happened at the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Firing Range and Training Center.

LEESBURG, Va. — A Loudoun County deputy is in the hospital after being injured in an accidental shooting at the sheriff's office's training center in Leesburg Thursday morning.

According to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office (LCSO), the shooting happened at their firing range and training center around 8:20 a.m. One deputy was taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries, and is said to be having surgery. They are said to be in stable condition. 

No information has been released about the deputy, including their name, age, and how long they have worked with the sheriff's office.

The LCSO says they are investigating the shooting that is said to be accidental.
