Tip from National Center for Missing and Exploited Children leads police to find 4 illegal machine guns

Detectives received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about 31-year-old Craig Strasbourger in September.

FAIRFAX, Va. — A Maryland man is facing a slew of charges after police, began investigating him for inappropriately talking with a minor online, reportedly found illegal machine guns inside his home. 

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, detectives received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about 31-year-old, Craig Strasbourger, in September.

Investigators claimed Strasbourger was inappropriately speaking with a juvenile in Kentucky and decided to serve a search warrant at his Vienna home on Robin Way Court Thursday.

When detectives arrived, they reportedly confiscated four illegal machine guns and various electronic devices from the home. 

Strasbourger was arrested and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He has been charged with four counts of unlawful possession of a machine gun. 

Detectives are reviewing what was stored on the electronic devices and say additional charges may be filed.
