VIRGINIA, USA — On Monday, in a heartfelt celebration of Veterans Day, Governor Glenn Youngkin unveiled the Virginia Veterans Network (VVN), a new and comprehensive online platform designed to support the nearly 700,000 veterans, transitioning service members, and their families living in Virginia. The announcement took place at the Hampton Roads Council of Veterans Organizations' (HRCVO) annual Veterans Day Luncheon in Virginia Beach, where Youngkin emphasized Virginia’s commitment to honoring those who have served in the military.

"Virginia is the proud home of nearly 700,000 military veterans, and we are dedicated every day to ensuring that Virginia is the best state in America for veterans, military service members, and their families to live, work, and raise a family," Governor Youngkin remarked. He went on to express his excitement about the launch of the Virginia Veterans Network, which he described as “the gold standard of service for Virginia veterans.”

The VVN was developed to streamline access to essential resources, offering a one-stop hub for veterans to easily navigate the array of services available to them. From medical care to legal support, job opportunities to educational resources, the platform connects veterans and their families with the vital services they’ve earned through their service. By linking hundreds of trusted organizations, government agencies, and veterans service groups into one easy-to-use digital portal, VVN aims to simplify the process of accessing everything from disability benefits and job training to peer support and wellness services.

"This platform is a tribute to Virginia's promise to honor veterans’ sacrifice with the care, respect, and resources they deserve," said Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears. "Ensuring that veterans are never alone in their journey is our steadfast commitment."

Virginia Secretary of Veterans and Defense Affairs, Craig Crenshaw, highlighted the practical value of the VVN, emphasizing how it would enhance the quality of life for veterans and military families. "This online portal includes hundreds of resources and is another example of how Virginia is committed to providing an excellent quality of life for veterans and their families," said Crenshaw.

The VVN portal, managed by the Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS), is a free service designed to offer real-time solutions to the needs of veterans. Whether seeking health care, education, employment, or legal advice, veterans and their families can now easily find trusted resources with just a few clicks. Additionally, the platform facilitates appointment scheduling with DVS and provides detailed information on federal, state, and local benefits.

Chuck Zingler, Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Veterans Services, spoke about the goals behind the creation of VVN. "Veterans asked for a simple solution for finding a variety of resources in the Commonwealth and beyond, and we made it happen. VVN offers real solutions in real time, connecting the right people to the right resources at the right time."

The launch of the Virginia Veterans Network marks a significant step forward in Virginia’s ongoing efforts to serve and support its military community. With an easy-to-navigate, centralized resource hub, veterans and their families can now access the services they need more efficiently than ever before.
