ARLINGTON, Va. -- A promotion by the Cheesecake Cake Factory to give DoorDash users a free slice of cheesecake didn’t go as planned when a fight broke out at a location in Clarendon.
According to Arlington Police, officers responded to the area around the Cheesecake Factory, on Clarendon Boulevard, just before 1 p.m. for a traffic complaint.
When they arrived, it became clear that the complaint was related to the promotion. While still on scene, police were called to a fight inside the restaurant.

While officers say they didn’t come across an active fight, there was a large crowd inside the restaurant and one person was allegedly acting disorderly. He was asked to leave the restaurant, but refused to comply with officers.
Police say a struggle ensued as officers attempted to take him into custody. He was evaluated and medically cleared by Arlington County Fire Department medics and was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
Police say he will likely be charged with disorderly conduct and released on summons.
USA Today reports that the deal sold out in less than three hours.
