FAIRFAX, Va. — Cell phone service in Fairfax County is currently impacted by fiber line issues, meaning some residents may experience trouble when trying to call for help.
The Fairfax County Government is advising residents who are dealing with issues attempting to call emergency services to text 911 instead. Residents can also try a phone from a different provider and see if that works or try to call from a landline or business phone.
"There is no current estimated time for restored service, but the county is working with partners to resolve the issue as quickly as possible," a spokesperson said Wednesday.
