Man arrested for leaving 2 toddlers and infant inside of parked car

When officers arrived they found children ages 3, 1, and an infant inside of the car.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — A man is being charged with child neglect for leaving his three young children inside of a car.

On Thursday, Prince William Police received calls just before 1:15 p.m. from witnesses who said they saw three kids inside a car outside of a Walmart located at 14000 Worth Avenue.

When officers arrived they found children ages 3, 1, and an infant inside of the car. Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene and forced entry into the car.

EMS examined the children, saw they were unharmed, and placed them inside a warm police car.

When the father, 29-year-old Mirwais Fazli, returned to the car he was placed under arrest.

Police have not said if the children have been released into the custody of a relative or if they remain in the county’s custody.

Fazli is being charged with 3 counts of child neglect with bond set at $3,000.
