FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — A 37-year-old man is dead after he was involved in a crash on Fairfax County Parkway in Reston Friday night. It's the seventh fatal crash in Fairfax County so far this year.
Fairfax County Police officers responded to the intersection of Fairfax County Parkway and Sunset Hills Road just before 8 p.m. for a report of a crash involving a motorcycle. Investigators say the crash was between a 2007 Yamaha R6 and a 2005 Toyota Sienna.
A preliminary investigation found that the motorcyclist, identified as Dominique Hunt-Brown, of Springfield, was heading southbound on Fairfax County Parkway. The driver of the Sienna had a green light and was attempting to make a left turn on to Fairfax County Parkway from Sunset Hills Road. Police say Hunt-Brown disregarded the red light, entered the intersection and hit the Sienna.
Hunt-Brown was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Detectives continue to investigate to determine whether speed or alcohol were factors in this crash.
