CULPEPER, Va. — Sheriff's deputies in Culpeper, Virginia, have arrested an 18-year-old high school student and two other teen girls in connection to a report of an overdose inside Eastern View High School Friday morning.
The Culpeper County Sheriff's Department reports that school resource officer Chris Williams had requested an ambulance around 9:30 a.m. for an unresponsive female student. School staff quickly administered Narcan, followed by CPR. The student was conscious when medics arrived, according to the sheriff's office. She was taken to an area hospital for further care.
Culpeper sheriff's deputies and detectives responded to the school to investigate the incident. K-9 teams from the sheriff's office, along with Virginia State Police and Fauquier Sheriff's Office responded to assist in searching the school.
A preliminary investigation by detectives found that two girls had used fentanyl in the form of counterfeit Percocet pills. As a result of the investigation, Jerry Montiel-Sanchez, an 18-year-old student at Culpeper County High School, was arrested on distribution charges. Sanchez is being held without bond at the Culpeper County Jail.
In addition to Sanchez, detectives also charged a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl with distribution. Both girls were remanded to the custody of their parents by juvenile intake pending their court dates.
