Officer in Arlington County raises $2K for childhood cancer research by having her head shaved

The foundation supports research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.

ARLINGTON, Va. — An officer with the Arlington County Police Department was able to raise money for a good cause by having her head shaved at an event on Sunday.

According to a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, their Patrol - Delta Squad attended the St. Baldrick's Foundation Conquer Kids' Cancer event which was hosted at Samuel Beckett's Irish Gastro Pub in Shirlington. The foundation is a charity powered by volunteers and donors committed to supporting promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.

By pledging to shave her head, Officer Rahaim was able to raise nearly $2,000 that will go toward childhood cancer research. 

"We value her commitment to helping others, both personally and professionally," the police department said in the social media post.
