VIRGINIA, USA — As we continue to cover the war in Gaza, here at home, communities are being targeted and facing constant discrimination. Fairfax County Police are investigating reports of antisemitic flyers distributed in a Wolf Trap neighborhood.
Mclean Police District are currently conducting an investigation after residents have reported finding numerous flyers with bias material. Now, the community is concerned for their safety and harmony.
Five flyers have been discovered near the intersection of Route 7 and Beulah Road. In response to these reports, Fairfax County Police have taken multiple approaches to address this issue. Firstly, officers are actively canvassing the affected area and encouraging residents to share any surveillance video they may have from ring cameras.
Officers have instructed homeowners to upload whatever security footage they believe to be helpful in this ongoing case via Neighbors by Ring so detectives can review them.
As a precaution, police have also increased patrols and visibility around places of worship and have been engaging with the faith-based communities. Law enforcement have not identified a specific threat at the moment.
But authorities are working to collect more evidence about the incidents to reassure the community that their safety is a priority.
As this has been an ongoing issue throughout many parts of Maryland and Virginia, police are emphasizing how important community involvement is in cases like this. Which is why they are asking anyone with information to reach out to the McLean Police District at (703) 556-7750.
