Amber Alert canceled for abducted Va. teen, suspect in custody

An amber alert that was issued for a possible child abduction in Woodbridge, Va. has been canceled and a suspect has been taken into custody.   

An amber alert that was issued for a possible child abduction in Woodbridge, Va. has been canceled and a suspect has been taken into custody.

Police say 16-year-old Sinahi Aguilar Cruz was found safe in Prince William County, Va.

Cruz was attending a party in the 14800 block of Danville Road. During the party, Cruz and 21-year-old Roberto Medrano Segovia got into an argument. At some point, Cruz left the part and witnesses told police they saw her being forcibly placed in a car with Segovia around 2 a.m. Police believed Cruz was in extreme danger.

An Amber Alert was sent out to the public some time between 9 and 10 Sunday morning.

Cruz was found around 2:40 p.m. in Woodbridge, Va. and Segovia was taken into custody.

No additional information has been released since Cruz was found and Segovia was taken into custody.

Police released the following information to describe Cruz during the Amber Alert:

Police described her as a female, 5-feet-2-inches tall, weighing 125 pounds with brown eyes and straight, long, brown hair. She was wearing white with purple stripe long sleeve shirt, denim jean pants and a light color jacket.

Police reported that Cruz and Segovia was traveling in a dark Honda Civic, possibly a hatchback.
