73-year-old man injured after bullet fired into his apartment in Prince William County

No additional injuries or property damage were reported.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A 73-year-old man was injured after a bullet hit him while he was inside his Woodbridge home early Saturday morning. 

Officers with the Prince William County Police Department responded to Riverwoods Apartments, located on Dettingen Place in Woodbridge, just before 1:40 a.m. to investigate a shooting. Through the investigation, they learned that several gunshots struck the apartment building.

One of those shots entered the apartment of the 73-year-old man and grazed him. He was treated at a local hospital for an injury to his upper body, that was described as non-life threatening.

The police department was able to collect bullet fragments from inside the apartment. No additional injuries or property damage were reported.
