A break in and a 15-month mystery. Two men who were already in jail on other charges are now charged in the shooting death of 21-year old Heather Ciccone of Spotsylvania County.
The mystery began in a stranger's driveway where she was found dead in her car December 6, 2015. She had been shot in the back of the head.
"It really shocks me that it happened," said Callis Godley, a next-door neighbor of the Ciccones.
Her family a built a garden memorial for their daughter that sits in the front yard.
"I see Stacey sitting out there all the time, you know, talking to her daughter," said Godley. He watched Heather and her two sisters grow up.
"I'm really glad that they found them," Godfey said about the suspects.
A grand jury indicted two men in on first degree murder in heather's death.
Joshua Christopher Williams, 29, and Jonathan Julian Vejarano, 28. Both are also charged with conspiracy to commit murder and using a firearm in the commission of a felony. Vejarano is also charged with possessing a firearm as a felon. They both have criminal records on less serious crimes.
Heather Ciccone was a Chancellor High School graduate and had been working as a waitress at the Red Robin in Spotsylvania.
The day she was killed, she had called in sick. Then left home that night after getting a call about a friend's car breaking down. She was found dead two hours later.
Both Williams and Vejarano have criminal histories.
Williams has convictions for malicious wounding, drug charges, attempted escape and probation violations and has a domestic assault charge. Vejarano has two convictions for receiving stolen property and four probation violations.
Vejarano is in the Rappahannock Regional Jail. Williams is being held in the Central Virginia Regional Jail in the Town of Orange.
