WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- A 19-year-old man was killed after a shooting at a school in the Woodbridge area, Prince William County police said.
Around 8:50 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1400 block of Darbydale Avenue after reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found 19-year-old Ishmael Mansaray suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was taken to the hospital where he later died.
According to police, Mansaray made arrangements to meet the suspect at Godwin Middle School. During the encounter, police said he was shot.
Godwin Middle School remained opened Thursday following the shooting and officials said the school was safe. Mansaray was not a staff member or student.
Police do not believe the shooting was random and have several suspects in custody.
Officials said this is the seventh homicide of 2016 in Prince William County.
