WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A 10-year-old boy was taken to an area hospital after he was assaulted during an attempted robbery in Woodbridge.
According to the Prince William County Police Department, the attack and attempted robbery happened in the 1900 block of Daniel Stuart Square shortly before 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Investigators say the 10-year-old was approached by a group of people, believed to also have been juveniles.
While talking, the group reportedly hit the 10-year-old boy and tried to take his phone. When they were unable to get the phone, the suspects ran away.
The boy was taken to an area hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The suspects are described as a group of both boys and girls wearing black clothing. No arrests have been made.
